So, based on Windows and being introduced to Tony in that book, and because of how well written and fun Windows was I purchased this and I unfortunately have to say that this was sorely lacking. Granted it was a shorter read (about half the size of Windows) the "romance" between Lydia and Tony did not feel like a romance at all. I didn't feel like they had a connection at all and for this I feel the character Tony was shortchanged by Miss London. Without trying to put too many spoilers in here, I find it hard to believe that such a sophisticated badass like Nick(from Windows - his actions are the catalyst in this story) would put himself and his crew in between Lydia - a woman he didn't know and didn't owe any favours to - and a rival gang simply because she asked him nicely. She also fit too perfectly into the role of the smart perfect gansta girlfriend for my taste. Everything seemed too contrived - the villian, Lydia fitting in with the crew, the "romance", even the sex wasn't that great. It would have been nicer if Miss London had taken her time with this one, draw the characters out a bit more and be more realistic like she did in Windows... overall this was just a meh for me.Product details

This is where Lydia and Tony first meet due to Nick being injured and rushed to the hospital. While Nick is recovering Lydia visit him and ask for help for a very bad situation she's got herself in and it's endangering her young brother. Nick tells her a tall man in the hall tell him to come in there and that's how Tony and Lydia starts. Tony takes over and ask how this started, Lydia tells him it was a Christmas party with lots of liquor and by that time the psychotic bad guy comes over she didn't know who he was and it was just for that night. She told Kelvin to leave her alone and that's when he start threating her and her brother because she wouldn't lie for him to the police or want to be bothered with him. Now Tony tells her he will take care of it but you got to get the book it is totally so funny at time, and some very hot action and drama OMG! Ms London thank you for this series and the other books too. GREAT JOB!!!!!!
Tony deserved love too. He was smart and sexy -- what a combination. He also knew what he wanted too...Lydia. They were funny together. I like that I can laugh at characters and how the communicate and interact with one another. They weren't fall all over you love like Nick and Gina but Lydia and Tony had a chemistry too. They were probably two people not meant to be together but did it anyway. I found myself laughing at them ALOT because they were so opposite and for that reason I enjoyed their story. They made each other laugh and just seem to get each other. I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed Windows. I'm still not a series kind of reader but there are still a few more to read and I want to know what happens next..
On Caristo's Watch gave me a couple of hours of enjoyment. For once an Alpha male that had a worthy love interest that was no shrinking violet. From the moment Lydia and Tony meet sparks are flying and the verbal sparring is fast and furious. One look at Lydia and Tony is hooked, he will use all his Latin charm to reel Lydia in. Lydia is the type of h that can walk and chew gum at the same time. She has a problem that only someone in Tony's business can take care of, she makes a snap decision to enlist his help knowing she is treading in unknown waters and that the outcome could be deadly. Tony and his family get right to work in protecting Lydia and her brother. Along the way the sexual tension between Lydia and Tony is heating up and finally blows up in a very HOT scene involving spanking and sizzlin sex in an SUV.
Lydia being Ghanaian and Irish was refreshing, she is a no nonsense chick with a strong attitude and a deep sense of family which made her a perfect match for Tony, the quintessential Italian male. OCW is a good IR set in London involving gangsters that was done well for the length of the story. The romance and gang activity was balanced, meaning don't expect a multilayered plot or deep characterization. If anything it was a bit sugary and filled with a lot of fluff. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, sometimes a lite read is all you need. The only moment to give me pause was when Lydia tried to play the Death Angel role.
If I ever needed someone to watch over me-I'd pick Tony hands down! Because he is not going to let anything get passed him-not on his watch!What an exciting and seductive part 2. I enjoyed reading Tony and Lydia's story. What a sexy gentle giant Tony was! His heart was gone from the very first; he was possessive and protective of his woman-who couldn't love that? I appreciated Lydia she was focused and strong, she knew she needed help and she went to the best. I also loved catching up with Nic and Gina, the author picked up just as Nic and Gina's story ended so it was as if their story was still going on. Part two was humorous and exciting mixed with a little danger and erotica everything a good IR should have. And that car scene-one word. Wow! Just wow! My only complaint was that it ended to soon, could have read another 50 pages. Someone commented that the hospital scene wasn't believable I found that it was, a good bodyguard is always anticipating that next move and that's what Tony did, he anticipated what she would do and he was there. And as far as Lydia, who is to say what one would do for their family when their back is against the wall...
On to Part 3...

Lydia was not having that especially after threatening her brother Jonathan. Tony kept Lydia from doing something he knew was not in her character. With the threat taken care of Tony was ready to take the next step and he did.
